John’s Blueprint Positioning Statement

## Unfair advantages

### Industry experience * Consultant who’s been in shops of many sizes and seen many problems * Exposure to lots of software and non-software problems in businesses * Tall and smart man people see as an authority ### Technical ability * Rails coder who has done a lot of integration work * Many other technical projects including system administration, Docker, PHP, deployment, JS ### Certifications * Permaculture design certificate ### Marketable success * Shipped online SNAP well and quickly for Rosie * Delivered maps of the business to AOSA and Jessecology that they found transformatively valuable

## Therefore…

I can help independent business owners get control of their business, their workload, and their profitability. I don't know which is the biggest felt need, but at AOSA it was Anna Pack spinning all the plates and at Jessecology it's the same story for Jesse, so "scaling past depending on the overwhelmed individual" is a reasonable guess for a starting point.

For Module 1 Past-Project Reflection:

Who: Bootstrapped businesses, growing, six or seven figures in sales. Around 10 staff.

What they want: The founder is desperate to not have everything go through them.

Why me: I have worked with businesses of all sizes and I know where work gets hung up and how to identify and fix these problems that keep everyone so helpless.

# Positioning statement

I help owners of bootstrapped businesses make their businesses work independently. Through my own experience as a software lead and consultant in companies of many sizes, I know where work gets hung up and how to identify and fix the problems that can keep staff stuck.
